Students

The USA is not the only university destination of interest today among globally mobile young people. UK, The Netherlands, Japan? There are many choices with quality English language degree programs around the world. I work with students in grades 9-12/years 10-13 with career guidance and navigating your way into higher education after high school. We will explore your strengths, personality, learning styles, multiple intelligences, and interests, along with what you like to do and are naturally good at. I work as your guide in the process to help you make the best possible choice for higher education. Working with you, your parent or guardian, and your school I will strive to be open, transparent, and supportive.

Parents

I am happy to set up some time to support you through this process as you seek to encourage your student. Guiding and supporting students through these critical years is something I have done for many years in the school setting. It is a privilege to be part of the educational journey of young people, one of the most rewarding and fulfilling things in my life.

College or University Students

Don’t quit. You’ve made it this far. Could you use some support in that difficult choice of choosing a major? Have you thought about changing your major, but afraid to take that leap? Are there other challenges or obstacles you are trying to overcome? Perhaps you are applying for graduate school as you complete your undergraduate studies and would appreciate some additional support with the process.

Teacher or Careers Advisors

It is not uncommon and you are not alone. In many international schools around the world, especially smaller or new schools, a teacher is asked to take on the duties of working with students on university applications and wear multiple hats. When students are looking at applying to multiple country destinations, this can become a much more complex job than many people realize. I can provide support to you in this process.

School Counselors

I am always thrilled to learn about professionals choosing to move into the school counseling role from teaching or some other profession. Should I say, become a school counselor? School counseling is near and dear to my heart. There are a number of choices for your professional development and training. With over thirty years working as a school counselor, perhaps I can offer some support to you in your journey.

School Administrators

Especially in small schools, or in new schools in the early years, administrators find themselves trying to navigate the university application process to support their senior students. As the school grows it becomes a more complicated and challenging job to manage, especially with a diverse student body seeking to apply to multiple country destinations. Perhaps I can be of some assistance and support your next steps.

Secondary School

In schools around the world there are many models and structures in place for addressing the social/emotional, career exploration, and university application guidance needs of students.

The world views of the teachers and administrators in a school are reflected in the systems and structures put in place, even the language used to discuss. There is no one way, right way, or best way to go, just different ways to meet the needs of students. Perhaps I can help support your school.

College or University

When international school counselors visit colleges and universities on counselor fly-ins or college tours, we have our students in mind. We think about their wellbeing, comfort, and sense of safety and security. We try to picture them on your campus. Perhaps I can support you in some of your international student initiatives.
